Jewelry Care & Sizing

Native American sterling silver jewelry is handcrafted to last generations.

With simple care and mindful wear, your pieces will age beautifully and retain their character for years to come.

Jewelry Care Guide

Wear It Often

We encourage you to wear and enjoy your jewelry.

Natural body oils help protect sterling silver from air, moisture, and everyday exposure.

Clean Gently & Regularly

Clean your jewelry before heavy tarnish develops.

Light tarnish is much easier to remove than deep oxidation.

  • Use a soft polishing cloth designed for sterling silver
  • Avoid liquid silver cleaners on turquoise or other soft stones
  • Store jewelry in a zip-lock bag or airtight container when not in use

Avoid Chemicals & Water Exposure

Always remove your jewelry before contact with:

  • Bleach, ammonia, alcohol, detergents, or citrus products
  • Chlorinated pools or saltwater
  • Bathing or prolonged water exposure

Water and chemicals can loosen stone settings and damage porous stones such as turquoise, coral, shell, opal, and lapis lazuli.

Do Not Use Ultrasonic Cleaners

Ultrasonic cleaners can permanently damage many natural stones.

Avoid ultrasonic or steam cleaning for:

  • Turquoise
  • Coral
  • Shell
  • Opal
  • Lapis Lazuli
  • Pearls

Only extremely hard stones (like diamonds) are safe for ultrasonic cleaning.

Proper Storage

Store sterling silver jewelry away from open air.

  • Use a jewelry box, soft pouch, or zip-lock bag
  • When traveling, wrap pieces individually in tissue or soft cloth
  • Prevent scratches by keeping items separated

Check for Loose Stones

Over time, humidity changes, travel vibration, and daily wear can loosen stones.

  • If a stone feels loose, have it tightened promptly
  • Minor bezel tightening can sometimes be done carefully
  • If a stone sits too low or padding is missing, consult a professional jeweler

If a stone is lost, locating it quickly makes repair much easier.

Put Jewelry on Last

Apply perfume, lotion, makeup, and hairspray first, then put on your jewelry.

This minimizes residue buildup and stone damage.

Remove During Physical Activity

Remove jewelry when:

  • Sleeping
  • Exercising
  • Doing manual work or sports

Chains can tangle, and earring posts or settings may bend under pressure.

A Lifetime of Wear

Native American jewelry is a classic American art form — not driven by trends.

Each handcrafted piece reflects cultural heritage, skilled artistry, and natural materials.

With proper care, your jewelry will:

  • Develop a rich, natural patina
  • Hold its beauty and value
  • Remain a meaningful part of your collection for years to come

Jewelry Sizing Notes

  • Many Native American rings and cuffs are hand-crafted, so slight size variations may occur
  • Cuff bracelets are often adjustable but should be opened or closed gently
  • If you are unsure about sizing, we recommend consulting a local jeweler before making adjustments
